Timken Power Systems' Philadelphia Gear brand is currently seeking a Gulf Coast Regional Sales Manager to oversee and manage an existing sales force and to grow the sales force in the Gulf Coast Region as needed and to optimize profit while meeting marketing, financial and corporate growth objectives. This team is responsible for driving business growth in gearbox repairs and sales and growing drivetrain business. This position reports to the General Manager - TPS Gulf Coast Region.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage existing sales staff, make joint sales calls, assist in closing large or complicated orders.
- Directs the sales efforts to assure customer inquiries are handled in a professional, efficient, and timely manner.
- Provide sales training and other development needs as identified to sales force.
- Be responsible for meeting company objectives for product sales and profitability.
- Ability to meet operational requirements, follow up on results.
- Maintain existing product sales, while formulating new product line strategy to assure market growth.
- Must display entrepreneurial spirit and ability to readily adjust to and do a multitude of tasks that may need to be accomplished or changed. Possess high energy level and ability to deal with high stress situations.
- Direct all aspects of the operation to the highest level of professionalism. Must be able to render and document disciplinary action as needed.
- Ability to manage time and priorities for maximum efficiency with available resources.
- General knowledge of industrial sales is necessary, experience working with mechanical & electrical products.
- Capable of visiting customers and ability to quickly assess needs, oversee engineering specifications and convert customer opportunities into profitable sales.
- Demonstrated ability to perform closely within a team environment, while at the same time have the ability to take charge and work independently when required, as well as interact with all levels of customers, vendors, and TGS management.
- Monitor and be held accountable for financial performance of the group. Takes corrective action as needed or directed.
- Willingness to travel as necessary, typically 50% or more.
- Ability to set up dealer networks in new markets.
- This role is primarily remote, and involves a high level of autonomy.
Key Attributes:
- 10+ years' experience working in industrial sales, preferably with a focus on industrial gearboxes.
- General industrial knowledge and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality - dependable and reliable.
- Excellent customer service and human relations skills.
- Willingness to continuously learn and grow with the company.
- Experience with CRM software.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, engineering, business or manufacturing from an accredited college or university is preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Applicant must have 10+ years of industrial sales experience, gearbox repair experience preferred.
- Prior management experience preferred.
