Position Summary:
We are seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to join our team. This position plays a critical role in driving quality excellence in our distribution processes. As a Principal Quality Engineer, you will conduct root cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure products meet or exceed customer and industry standards.
This role champions the Timken Quality Management System (TQMS) to assure plant-wide compliance to ISO-9001 and IATF-16949 standards. Finally, this position plans, schedules, and coordinates the detailed phases of major quality system projects, involving and leveraging Corporate Quality resources as necessary to address and resolve issues.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead the resolution of External and Internal issues/non-conformances, working with customers and Timken plants. This position monitors, reports, and tracks all complaint activity, CAR/PAR activity, and drives resolution through successful 3D/8D completion in QIM. This position will serve as the problem-solving lead to identify root cause and implement corrective actions in a collaborative and cross functional team.
- Serves as a lead auditor for the facility and has ownership of the Internal Quality Audit program to include schedule, training, and finding management.
- Oversight of the Nonconforming Area to include setting inspection priorities and monitoring and reporting of QI/QH inventory levels to drive reduction. Oversight of 3rd party sorting activity as needed.
- Supervision of employees supporting the Nonconforming area.
- Quality Management System oversight to include PFMEAs, PCPs, Plant Quality Manual, etc.
- Ownership of the ARD program to include 8130-3 issuance and represents Timken with respect to FAA communications and requirements. Supports employees in the FAA/PMA work area to assure that customer-specific requirements are met including those related to but not limited to receiving, etching, inspection, certification, packaging, and shipping.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a quality related role, preferably in manufacturing and or distribution.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Quality Systems experience (PCP, PFMEA, 8D)
- ISO-9001/IATF-16949 Lead Auditor Certification
