CDL Driver

Lovejoy, a business in the Timken family of brands, is looking to hire a CDL truck driver in Downers Grove, IL.

Transport products and supplies between Lovejoy manufacturing locations, service companies and suppliers.  Make local drop offs and pickups from, plating, balancing, nitriding and passivation.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transport finished goods and raw materials over land via a 24 ft box truck and/or cargo van.  Deliveries made  to and from manufacturing plants, suppliers, service organizations or customers.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform or schedule preventative maintenance in conjunction with MK and associates.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods, log miles spent driving and, retain fuel/toll receipts
• Load and unload Trucks
• Comply with CDL truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents or violations
• Assist with transportation of the product within the facility.
• Managing proof of delivery paperwork from customers and suppliers.
• Other duties as assigned.

TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL SKILLS:

• Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
• Can Pass a DOT physical
• Valid CDL Class A driving license
• Being self-motivated
• Having good communication and interpersonal skills
• Being able to work independently

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• Minimum of 2 years driving class 8 trucks is required
• CDL class A license is required
