Position Summary:  The Auger Quoting & Pricing Specialist owns the end‑to‑end quoting process for the auger product line, serving as the single point of accountability for complex, high‑value customer proposals. This role is responsible for RFQ intake and archival, technical and manufacturability review, BOM and routing development, detailed cost modeling, coordination of internal and external processes, and delivery of accurate, auditable quotes in partnership with Sales Account Managers (SAMs). The position requires strong technical knowledge, cross‑functional collaboration, and disciplined documentation to ensure quotes are competitive, executable, and aligned with operational capabilities.

Essential Job Duties: 

  • Own the full auger quote lifecycle, including RFQ intake, technical review, cost development, approval coordination, and proposal delivery.
  • Review customer drawings, specifications, and requirements to evaluate manufacturability and identify technical risks.
  • Develop and maintain BOMs, routings, labor standards, and pricing models using established templates and time standards.
  • Build detailed Excel‑based cost models incorporating materials, labor, overhead, external processing, MOQs, lead times, and freight.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Purchasing, and Operations to validate assumptions and capacity.
  • Source and validate external‑process pricing and lead times in collaboration with Purchasing.
  • Clearly communicate pricing assumptions, options, risks, and trade‑offs to SAMs and customers.
  • Maintain documentation, revision control, and audit readiness for all quote packages, many of which represent multi‑million‑dollar opportunities.
  • Track and manage the auger quote pipeline using Smartsheet and CRM/ERP systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement in quoting templates, standards, and processes to improve accuracy and cycle time.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, finance, business, communications, or related field with 7+ years of relative experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing quoting experience for metal forming and welded assemblies required; auger or flighting experience strongly preferred.
  • Must be located at or work on‑site at the Clinton, IA auger facility.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing planning principles, estimating practices, and production constraints.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel required) and SAP or other MRP/ERP systems.
  • Ability to independently manage projects with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude related to weldments, rotating assemblies, and fabrication processes.
  • Proven ability to work cross‑functionally and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly analytical, detail‑oriented, organized, and process‑driven.     

Language Skills: 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, specifications, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, quote documentation, and professional communications. Ability to speak effectively with fellow employees, internal partners, and customers.

Mathematical Skills:                                                    

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and apply fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry to manufacturing contexts. Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to costing, pricing, and capacity calculations.

Reasoning Ability:                                                        

Ability to apply common‑sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule, or diagram form. Ability to evaluate multiple variables simultaneously and exercise sound judgment when balancing cost, manufacturability, schedule, and risk.

The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and varying weather conditions. The employee may occasionally be exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in production areas is usually loud.

 Required Personal Protective Equipment

Employee is required to wear proper safety eyewear, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes at all times while on the plant floor.

Pay Transparency:

The yearly compensation for this role is $77,860 – 96,180, is commensurate on experience and education, and could pay more or less than the posted range.
