CGI by Timken is in search of an Associate Manufacturing Engineer
Job Summary:
The Associate Manufacturing Engineer supports the Manufacturing Engineering group and any associated activities driven by the responsibilities of this group. Responsible for the design of production tools for new products and for production. Problem solves and develops solutions to production problems relating to materials, processes, shop floor routing and tooling. Incorporates all the production related aspects Engineering Change orders (ECOs) and revision changes dictated by the customer. Works with the Director of Manufacturing Engineering on priorities and implementation of improvement projects.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Supports the Manufacturing Engineering group in all activities.
- Designs tools of varying types for use in the manufacturing of company products
- Generates all related activities for new CGI products (gearhead products) including routings and tooling.
- Works with Manufacturing Engineering to support activities for new customer component parts
- Coordinates all engineering releases and changes relative to routings, setting standards, data entry and follow-up
- Determines priorities with the Director of Manufacturing Engineering and implements quality improvements, efficiency or cost-reduction projects; maintains detailed documentation as required
- Stays informed concerning new manufacturing technology and equipment, and investigates their potential applications
- Other duties as assigned
Technical Functional Skills:
- Knowledgeable concerning mechanical principles, machining practices
- Knowledgeable concerning modern fabrication and assembly techniques and machine-shop practices and techniques is desirable
- Familiarity with ISO 9000, ISO 13485 and AS9100 quality management systems and related requirements Strong drafting skills using Solidworks and AutoCAD
- Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with new innovations to economically solve production problems in a timely manner
- Has initiative and able to work effectively with little direction and/or few guidelines
- Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing at all levels within the organization as well as with external customers and suppliers
- Working knowledge of computer systems and data processing, familiarity with complex ERP systems and MRP principles
- Familiar with computer-controlled machine tools and high-volume automated production equipment CADCAM experience desirable.
- Familiarity of Six Sigma and Lean practices desirable Electro-mechanical experience desirable
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S.M.E. degree or a B.S. degree with a concentration of coursework in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 5 years of experience.
This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data (“CTD”) and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR). Eligible candidates are; US Citizens, Green Card holders, Asylees or others eligible to receive US export license authorizations. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
