Primary Function:

  • Operation of Heat Treating Equipment: Sets up and operates various heat treating equipment and auxiliary machinery.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Examines equipment for issues, makes minor repairs and adjustments to machines.
  • Inventory Management: Responsible for inventory moves using systems like SFI (Shop Floor Inventory) and SAP.
  • Communication and Support: Receives instructions from supervisors, assists new employees, and notifies management of major equipment malfunctions.

 

Responsibilities Overview:

  • Receives work assignments and instructions from Lead Manufacturing, Supervisor, or Manager.

    • Performs firewatch duties to ensure safety around heat treating equipment.
    • Monitors production lines, conducts quality checks, and adjusts equipment settings as needed.
    • Reports malfunctions and major repair needs to supervisors promptly.
    • Maintains smooth product flow and assists in making necessary repairs.
    • Conducts minor machine maintenance and ensures machines are properly lubricated.
    • Completes standard forms, procures tools, and maintains cleanliness of work area.
    • Computer Systems Management:
      • Retrieves and enters information into various computer systems such as SAP, SFI (Shop Floor Inventory), and SPC (Statistical Process Control).

Education and Workforce Experience:

  • Education Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Work Experience: 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment or related field.
  • Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and technical background.
  • Core Competencies:
    • Proven reliability in attendance and strong work ethic.
    • Team-oriented with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
    • Proficient in basic math skills and mechanical operations.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. is mandatory.
