The Engineering Manager is responsible for the management of an internal engineering team and customer service associates to ensure timely, profitable, and technically correct delivery of highly engineered and complex projects. The engineering manager will be the primary POC as well as designer and project manager for highly strategic projects as directed by Business Manager. The engineering manager will also be responsible for the development and delivery of technical proposals securing sales in excess of $10MM/year.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of engineers/customer service associates including sales, design, code, best practices, schedule, and customer service
- Manage/coordinate suppliers, engineering resources, internal and external production (and other commercial and legal) resources, field installers, start-up technicians, logistics firms, subcontractors, and other internal and external resources as necessary
- Develop crane system proposals including design, estimating, and adherence with project specifications
- Design of highly complex material handling systems (Design, detail, and release drawings for production) in highly visible and strategic projects
- Develop and maintain engineering work instructions to ensure compliance with applicable codes and best practices
- Directly interface with customer(s) to ensure complete and clear communication – provide single source POC for any and all customer questions on highly strategic customer projects
- Manage design profitability of projects to ensure compliance with estimated costs while maximizing project profitability.
- Ensure 100% technical compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and codes.
- Provide technical evaluations to support customer quotation requests and works with all members of the site team to achieve promised on-time delivery commitments and financial objectives.
- Serves as a technical expert for the site.
- Oversee QC activities including but not limited to, calibration, corrective actions, and audits.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of reports.
Skills:
- OH Material handling crane technical and commercial proficiency and experience
- Knowledge and experience with applicable codes including CMAA, NEC, OSHA, ASCE, ASME, AISC
- Technical knowledge, mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Mechanical design proficiency and experience
- Structural design proficiency experience
- Proficient in electrical schematics and design including relay logic, VFD drives, NEC Code
- CAD drawing and modeling experience
- Ability to interpret and apply design codes
- Strong computer skills – MS Office, AutoCAD, Solidworks, MathCAD, Acrobat, Epicor
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Programming proficiency preferred in MatLAB, C/++, VBA or other
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering required, (Masters degree preferred)
- Minimum 12 years of engineering (mechanical/ electrical) experience required, (+15 years preferred)
- PMP certification preferred
- PE certification preferred
Work Environment:
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm., on-site at Broomfield manufacturing facility.
- Compensation: $125,000-145,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education, and could pay more or less than the posted range.
