Job Description:
Timken IT seeks an experienced Project Manager (contractor) to lead and deliver the Digital Customer Projects within the Web Application Team. The role requires strong project management skills, proven experience managing .NET web application development projects, and the ability to coordinate with global business and IT stakeholders to ensure on-time, on-budget, high-quality delivery.Required Qualifications10–12+ years of relevant IT experience, including a minimum of 3–5 years in a Project Manager role.Demonstrated experience managing .NET web application development projects (design, development, testing, deployment).Proven track record of delivering enterprise-level web or digital solutions in a global, matrixed environment with distributed teams and stakeholders.Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile (Scrum), and hybrid delivery approaches.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to present to senior leadership and manage global business partners.Solid experience with project planning and tracking tools ( JIRA, Azure DevOps) and collaboration tools ( Teams).Strong risk, issue, and change management skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities with strong time-management skills.Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end project management ensuring delivery against scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.Create, maintain, and communicate project plans, schedules, risk and issue logs, Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies and status reports.Drive cross-functional collaboration among product owners, business stakeholders, global IT teams (development, QA, infrastructure, security), and external vendors/contractors.Manage and prioritize the project backlog in collaboration with Product Owners and technical leads; ensure alignment between business priorities and technical delivery.Oversee project governance: status meetings, change control boards, and producing executive-level dashboards and presentations.Ensure adherence to Timken’s development lifecycle, quality standards, security/compliance requirements, and release management processes.Facilitate sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile rituals as needed; support hybrid delivery models (Agile with stage-gate or phased rollout) when required.Track project financials: forecasts, budgets, earned value metrics (where applicable), and approval requests.Identify, escalate, and resolve project risks, impediments, and dependencies; implement mitigation and contingency plans.Mentor and guide team members on project processes and best practices; support continuous improvement initiatives.
