Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Expeditor Purchasing Assistant coordinates supplier deliveries and internal communication to ensure materials and MRO supplies arrive on time and meet quality and cost expectations. This position supports purchasing operations through order entry, expediting, discrepancy resolution, and supplier file maintenance at the Timken Aurora Bearing plant.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Expedite open purchase orders and coordinate deliveries with suppliers to meet production schedules.
- Enter purchase orders into ERP system and disbursements of documents printed.
- Review all Purchase Requisitions for MRO for proper authorization and processing.
- Resolve discrepancies between receiving reports and supplier invoices; follow up to correct issues.
- Maintain active supplier communication for order status, corrected certifications, SDS requests, and age-sensitive materials.
- Maintain and organize supplier files and purchasing documentation.
- Locate and reproduce engineering prints and attach copies to purchase orders as needed.
- Manage daily filing and departmental documentation to support purchasing operations.
- Organize and maintain office supply inventory and the office supply room.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior purchasing, expediting, or procurement support experience preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work under deadlines, and support multiple internal stakeholders.
