Senior process engineer

Essential Responsibilities:

1.      Conduct activities in the application of standard techniques and procedures. Work with other operating areas to address machining, tooling and maintenance issues that may arise in the manufacturing process.

2.      Simultaneously manage multiple tasks and show maximum progress on high priority tasks without ignoring others.

3.      Work closely with manufacturing management in the assigned department and make recommendations for, and manage the implementation of capital equipment and process improvements.  Seek new improvement opportunities and propose to management.

4.      Provide technical support for manufacturing processes and associate

5.      The incumbent must have the ability to set individual goals that are in alignment with plant objectives and monitor progress.

6.      Maintain contact with Timken Research, other plants and external resources to share and leverage information.

7.      Recommend changes in design and methods and provide financial justification for these changes.

8.      Utilize new or current technologies (leverage capital) to expand and/or improve current mfg. methods or processes.

9.      Document current procedures, methods and tooling and capture improvements as they are developed.

10.   Document test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data and make recommendations for further changes in process or procedure.

11.   Develop (through formal training or experience) technical capabilities that create flexibility within the engineering team, e.g. heat treat engineers to develop knowledge of turning process.

12.   Ability to organize, evaluate and summarize data Conducts advanced and complex engineering and related studies, evaluates alternatives, makes recommendations and presents reports to the Department Managers across plants

13.   Serves as project manager on complex projects, including defining project scope, selecting consultants, negotiating contracts, amendments and change orders, preparing and monitoring project schedules; monitoring, reviewing and coordinating project design. 

14.   Serve as an expert in engineering manufacturing advanced development, be able to analyze design which include process drawing, tooling, programing, problem solving etc.
