Purpose:

This as associate will function as part of the process engineering department, supporting the process with knowledge of machine controls, SCADA systems and locally being the first point of contact for Data acquisition technologies and remote support systems. Internally associate will be supporting the various data handling technologies present at plant level (KBE, MII, IGNITION, etc.) while also with the guidance of corporate and OEM performing software optimizations and ladder logic improvements for existing process and participate together with process engineers in the troubleshooting on PLC (and machine software) related issues.

 

Responsabilities: 

  • Support the KBE technology on plant.
  • Support the Ignition project implementation and maintenance.
  • Keep updated PLC and HMI backups library of critical equipment.
  • With the help of OEM and corp follow programming changes in support of department engineers as they test/make improvements to the process to include basic PLC and HMI programming.
  • Perform basic PLC and HMI maintenance routines.
  • Maintain and test remote assistance platforms for OEM connection to assets.
  • Participate on machine overhaul and modification projects from an electronic/ electric and controls perspective.
  • Maintain communication with machine OEM for software updates/modifications of existing assets.
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and IT to develop and deploy manufacturing controls such as automated poka-yokes/vision systems and software restrictions.
  • Update, and troubleshoot automation equipment and PLC’s.
  • Ability to wire, install and integrate new sensors or actuators in support of process department engineers.
  • Be first point of contact for software or communication improvements form corporative.
  • Troubleshoot issues with industrial communication networks (OPC/ethernet ip / profibus/ profinet)
  • Ability to learn and support software and components across multiple brand of automation equipment (Siemens / Mitsubishi / Allen Bradley)
  • Support in keeping updated electrical and schematic drawing of machines.

 

Education / Experience

  • Preferred – Bachelor Degree in Engineer with 2+ years’ experience in Manufacturing enviroment.
