Purpose and Scope

The Lean Engineer objectives are to achieve a competitive advantage though cost reduction and efficient service o customer demands. TMOS (Sc's) initiatives or Kaizens are an effective way of establishing improvement goals or gathering ideas for improvements. The Lean Engineer will play an important role in plant efficiency, but will also be involved in creating company culture in accordance with Timken standards and adopting a unified team approach.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identify gaps in Best business Practice Metrics (BBPS's) and then work will all levels of the plant in establishing and executing strategy for improving them.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop a plant C.I roadmap, driving breakthrough or Best in Class performance that balances resources between internal plant proficiency and external customer-focused effectiveness projects through: 1. Just do it Improvements 2. Six Sigma Projects, and 3. Lean Implementation Projects.
  • Using Standard tracking and reporting Systems, will prepare detailed plans, drive project performance and assure timely completion and achievement of product/ process quality, and savings goals.
  • Assist Process Owners in identifying barriers to project success and helps to drive changes when needed.
  • Assist Operations Manager in any strategic initiative that will help in compliance to standards, implementing new systems, and designing creative solutions that will continuously improve the plant.
  • Responsible of delivering the Plants Annual Cl Goals.
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams to drive Best-in- Class performance in People, Quality, Material flow, and Cost.
  • Conduct value Stream Analysis ( Current and future State Value Stream Mapping)
  • Responsible for the training and coaching of team members in understanding Lean Principles.

 

Technical/Functional Skills

  • Statistical knowledge and the ability to apply statistics to product and Process improvements projects.
  • Certifications as a green Belt.
  • Leads and Implements work place organization, s·s and visual system in the assembly lines.

 

Soft Skill:

  • Strong Communication and facilitation skills.

 

Education / Experience

Industrial Engineer Degree (Certified)

Minimum 3 years in Experience In Lean Engineer, Lean Implementation, Green Belt Projects and leading Value Stream analysis.
